Schutt Sports has signed the 2004 NCAA Men’s and Women’s National Champion coaches, Jim Calhoun and Geno Auriemma, as their national endorsers. Under the terms of the deal, both coaches will be featured in Schutt’s basketball advertising, catalog, and promotional materials. In 32 seasons as a head coach on the NCAA Division I collegiate level, Jim Calhoun’s overall collegiate head coaching record is 680-302 (.692). In addition to his record four conference Coach of the Year awards, Jim was named the National Coach of the Year following the ’98-’99 season. Two national championships, 10 sweet sixteen appearances, and 13 conference titles certainly rank Calhoun as one of the elite coaches in basketball.
“I’m very excited to be working with Schutt,” said Calhoun. “As the national champions, we want nothing but the best. That’s what we get with Schutt.”

Geno Auriemma has redefined the meaning of success in college women’s basketball. On the court, his success includes five national championships. Auriemma is a five-time National Coach of the Year winner and has been named the conference Coach of the Year six times, including the 2002-03 award. His 19-year overall record stands at 532-103 (.838), making him first all-time among active Division I coaches in winning percentage and the second fastest coach overall to eclipse the 500-win mark.

“Schutt Sports demonstrates the same commitment to excellence in their products as I expect when I’m coaching,” noted Auriemma. “I look forward to this partnership.”
