Schutt Sports is being featured one of cable television’s leading technology programs, Modern Marvels, in an episode featuring technology on the football field. Modern Marvels sent a video crew to the Salem, Illinois facility of Schutt Sports, where the company makes all of its football helmets, including the all-new ION4D and AiR XP. The episode will be broadcast Friday night at 7pm, CDT, on The History Channel.

Modern Marvels is one of the longest running shows on cable, having made its debut on The History Channel in 1995. Prior to that, it was sold on videotape.

“Since football is the country's most high profile sport, uncovering the technology involved in helmets was a logical segment for this episode,” says Jim Hense, the creative director and producer of the program featuring Schutt. “Schutt was eager to participate with us and they were great to work with. Personally, I was fascinated by how much research and technology goes into football helmets and how well Schutt makes helmets that reduce the risk of injury.”

“I’ve been a huge fan of Modern Marvels for years,” says Glenn Beckmann, Marketing Communications Manager for Schutt. “When they approached us about the program, we jumped on the opportunity. We have a very high profile product in the country’s most high profile sport and this is an outstanding way to tell our story to a technologically savvy audience. Plus, you know it’s a lot of fun for all of us – telling everyone we’re going to be on Modern Marvels.
