Saucony, Inc appointed David Dowd as regional sales director for the western United States, effective May 25, 2011. In this role, Dowd will be responsible for Sauconys Western U.S. accounts and independent sales representative agencies, as well as communicating the goals and strategy of the brand to retail partners. Dowd will report directly to Tim Knowlton, vice president of field sales for Saucony. 


In making todays announcement, Knowlton said: Dave has tremendous experience within the running industry as a manager, buyer, and marketing leader. He conducts himself with the highest integrity and professionalism and has cultivated great relationships and respect among his peers. Dave will provide a strategic perspective to the west sales team based on his considerable retail experience and his passion for the Saucony brand.


 


Prior to his new role at Saucony, he was vice president of product and brand marketing at Fleet Feet Sports Chicago where he was responsible for all aspects of brand and product marketing for two Chicago-based stores. Before that, Dowd had positions at Niketown (Chicago) and the Athletic Annex Running Center (Indianapolis).


 


Dowd has a B.A. in Psychology and Economics from the University of Houston, and an M.S. in Marketing and Strategic management from Purdue University.
