Salomon’s Global Chief Brand Officer Scott Mellin will be leaving the Amer Sports-owned brand in April 2026. He announced his pending departure in a LinkedIn post.
Melin joined Salomon in January 2023. Before joining the company, he was CEO of LifeLabs Design, Inc. Past roles also include Global VP of Mountain Sports at The North Face and CEO of Factory Design Labs.
The LinkedIn post reads as follows:
I’m leaving Salomon on April 1, 2026. We have a lot to be proud of.
When I joined Salomon at the end of 2022, we developed a clear Brand Vision: Purpose/Consumer/Awareness/Experiences
Purpose: Together, we delivered a new Vision, Mission, Purpose, and a common focus to simplify the way we make choices. This translated into a clear strategy, summarized as the Modern Mountain Sports Lifestyle brand.
Consumer: We were able to transform a vast array of consumer targets into a common Global Consumer Muse to give us clarity on who we are making product for and marketing to.
Awareness: We knew that we had to raise our overall global awareness. Over the past 3 years, we have doubled awareness and driven a 3x growth in the Innovation equity, powered overall by a new standard of creative excellence.
Experiences: From Product Launches at UTMB and Paris Fashion Week, to a new elevated Retail storytelling concept for monthly masterplan executions, and finally an aligned global retail concept vision. We now lead the industry in visual storytelling and experiences.
This 3 Years of Focus on the Brand Vision has delivered amazing progress for the Salomon Brand.
But what I am most proud of sits behind the Vision itself:
Reinforcing a Culture of Creativity — long rooted in Salomon’s DNA. Together, we’ve sharpened our design excellence, elevated communications, and pushed our visual storytelling to a level that stands out across the industry.
Acknowledging the remarkable work of the Global Brand Leadership Team. Valerie Marot, Marion Blache, Nick Parkinson, Anne-Laure Nicod Weulersse, Yasmine Dufournet, and Marie-Laure Piednoir have shown real focus and determination. Your collective effort has consistently elevated every brief and driven much of our progress as a Brand.
Driving the power of Innovation in our brand narrative. The teams have worked hard to translate Salomon’s innovation strengths into clearer, more impactful storytelling — making it more visible, aspirational, and consistent across the entire consumer journey.
Salomon’s success belongs to many teams beyond the Brand – including Product, Commercial, Operations, and many more.
For me, this has been such an amazing creative and cultural experience. I thank you all.
And to everyone at Salomon, I know that you will continue Shaping the Future of Sport and Culture.
Cheers. SM
