Salomon, a leader in technical design and innovation in mountain sports, announced the appointment of Anthony Diana as its new regional category manager for footwear in the U.S. In his new role Diana will work closely with both the sales and commercial organizations to further accelerate the market leading growth of the brand.

Diana joins Salomon’s U.S. team with more than nine years of experience in the outdoor industry and seven years with multiple brands from Amer Sports, the parent company of Salomon, Suunto, Wilson, Atomic, Arc’teryx, Mavic and Precor. During his time with these brands he has spent time as a product line manager for Mavic where he created, and brought to the cycling market, the first “wheel-tire system” which launched Mavic into the tire category. He also served in both a global product management and commercial manager role for Salomon footwear during his previous years with the brand where he focused on growing key strategic accounts and developed the Forces category.

“We are glad to bring Anthony on to the U.S. team,” said Jeff Larsen, Salomon VP and regional commercial director of footwear. “His experience with our global counterparts and knowledge in every aspect of the market are going to be game changers for our accounts. He will be an integral part of the organization and help gain even more market share for the Salomon brand, particularly in the specialty outdoor channel.”

Growing up in the Jura mountain range in the eastern part of France, Diana fell in love with mountain biking, trail running, snowboarding and nordic skiing. He has lived in Annecy, France since 2007 and will be relocating to Ogden, Utah which serves as Salomon’s U.S. headquarters. He has a degree in economics and has completed graduate work in sales, product marketing and innovation.

“I’m delighted to join the U.S. footwear team,” said Diana. “They have built outstanding momentum for Salomon in the market and I’m pleased to become a part of that adventure. Having in-depth knowledge of the product pipeline in Annecy will help in maturing this market even more and creates very exciting times ahead of us.”
