Salomon promoted Bertrand Gachon, a recent hire with extensive experience working for Nike, to lead EMEA operations.
Gachon, now general manager, EMEA, joined Salomon in November 2024 to lead the brand’s Sportstyle category. With this promotion, he will oversee Salomon’s broader operations across EMEA.
Gachon began his career at Nike Inc., where he spent 25 years, ultimately becoming Action Sports Category Director for France. In 2011, he transitioned to Converse as general manager for France. He then advanced in 2017 to become Converse’s sales director for Western Europe, a role he held until joining Salomon in 2024.
“I am energized and grateful to take on this role. Thanks to the passion and dedication of our teams, we stand on strong foundations to inspire consumers through a powerful and seamless journey. By elevating our omnichannel go-to-market and striving for operational excellence, we will unlock new ways to connect with our communities and write the future of Salomon in EMEA,” said Bertrand.
Gachon’s appointment coincides with a period of growth for Amer Sports, Salomon’s parent, which raised its annual guidance upward in August after a 23 percent second-quarter sales increase. Accelerated footwear growth at Salomon and continued momentum at Arc’teryx drove 35 percent growth in Amer’s Outdoor Performance Segment in the quarter.
