Amer Sports Winter and Outdoor Americas named new sales reps in Alaska for its Salomon and Atomic equipment lines.

Joel Hammond is expanding his territory in the Northwest to include Alaska for Salomon alpine hardgoods sales, while Doug and Leigh Nunn’s company, In Outdoor, will also expand its Northwest reach to Alaska for Salomon Nordic hardgoods, Nordic apparel and alpine/outdoor apparel.

“It’s such a win for us to take the proven expertise of these highly performing reps into Alaska,” said
Mike Adams, vice president of winter sports equipment for Amer Sports Winter and Outdoor Americas, which is based in Ogden, UT.

Joel Hammond started his sales rep business in 2001 and has been handling Salomon alpine in the Northwest since 2003. A brief Salomon sales team restructuring removed Alaska from Hammond’s service area for   the
last two years, and he’s thrilled to get it  back.

“Alaska has been and always will be a part of the territory that I greatly cherish,” says Hammond. “Alaska is an amazing part of the country that truly offers everything a skier can desire. Salomon makes excellent products that fit the demands of an Alaskan skier, and with the new MTN collection, the future there is very bright.”

Doug Nunn also serviced Alaska throughout his career as one of the original Salomon Nordic sales reps in the United States. He agrees that it’s good for his team at In Outdoor to be back in “The Last Frontier” after a two year hiatus.

“Alaska has always been important to us as skiers and sales reps,” said Nunn. “We’re thrilled to build on the momentum that the brand has had there for many years.”

At Atomic, Barry Zamzow
will be covering the state of Alaska for Atomic alpine hardgoods
and softgoods sales and the Nunns will expand their Northwest
reach to Alaska for Atomic Nordic
 hardgoods.

Zamzow has worked in the ski industry since the late 1980s, handling retail and customer service
positions before becoming
an Atomic sales assistant in 1997. He became the lead Atomic sales
rep for the Northwest territory, which included Oregon, Washington, Northern Idaho and Alaska in 2004. In 2007, Montana
was added to his territory. Two
years ago, a sales restructuring allocated Alaska to another rep, during which time Zamzow says he greatly missed covering “The Last Frontier.”

“I’m really
happy to be working in Alaska with the Atomic brand,” says Zamzow.
“It’s a natural fit with my work in the Northwest. I look forward to spreading the good word from Atomic and
seeing what we can do to grow the brand.”

“Barry and Doug bring a wealth of sales experience to the table,” said Adams. “It’s great that they’ll be able to easily transition back into a part of the  United States that is so important to the
Atomic brand.”

Doug Nunn and his In Outdoor team have been servicing
Washington and Oregon for Atomic Nordic for the past three years.
