Salewa North America is significantly strengthening its Sales Rep force. The Sherpa Group (headquartered in Portland, OR) takes over the Northwest Region, while renowned climber Mark Wilford adds strong talent and sales coverage to America’s heartland.

Jack Powell and Brock Selig of The Sherpa Group enjoy the type of industry history and dealer trust that Dynafit and silvretta are known for. Along with these industry veterans, teammates Gabe Calderon and Jaime Buyagawan give this rep group strong coverage of a critical territory. “The Northwest is a key Dynafit/silvretta territory. It is a region rich in ski mountaineering history, terrain, and passionate skiers and dealers,” states Tim Kelley, Director of Sales for SNA. “This is a region with tremendous sales and even better potential, so having The Sherpa Group servicing it from bases in Montana, Washington, and Oregon allows us to be a user-driven brand that’s tuned in to the people” adds Kelley.

“We had been searching for just the right brand to compliment our business,” says Brock Selig. “Dynafit and silvretta are just that, and it doesn’t hurt that SNA is a new company that is investing in these brands. They offer us synergy in our offering that allows us to say, ‘This is what the best of the best choose’.”

On paper the Midwest is not a backcountry skiing hotspot, but in today’s world of quick trips to Canada or Colorado, every territory boasts passionate users. This explains why Mark Wilford, one of America’s premier alpine climbers, has been successfully servicing dealers throughout the Midwest from his Colorado home. “The Midwest dealers are spread out, but still very serious about product selection and increasingly calling for premier gear to offer their customers,” explains Wilford.

“If you told me the first American to solo the North Face of the Eiger would be representing our brands in the Midwest, I may not have believed you” laughs Kelley. “So yes, we are very excited to have Mark driving the growth of our brand and business among Midwest backcountry skiers.”
