Saks Global, which filed for bankruptcy protection on January 14, 2026, plans to close eight Saks Fifth Avenue stores as well as its Neiman Marcus Boston store.
The Saks Fifth Avenue closures include The Summit in Birmingham, AL; Polaris Fashion Place in Columbus, OH; American Dream in East Rutherford, NJ; Shops at Canal Place in New Orleans; Bala Plaza outside of Philadelphia; Biltmore Fashion Park in Phoenix, AZ; Stony Point Fashion Park in Richmond, VA; and Utica Square in Tulsa, OK.
The closures will leave Saks Global with 25 Saks Fifth Avenue stores and 35 Neiman Marcus stores. The company will continue to operate its two Bergdorf Goodman stores in New York City.
Saks Global said the closures reflect the “initial phase of optimization across the Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus store footprint” as it focuses on its “most profitable businesses.” Closures are based on performance and lease economics.
Saks Global also said Tuesday, February 10, it will wind down 14 standalone Fifth Avenue Club personal styling suites on Saturday, February 14, though it will keep three standalone sites. It will also close its home site, Horchow.com, a business Neiman Marcus acquired in the late 1980s.
“We are initiating a series of actions to reinforce Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman as the ultimate destinations for luxury with a seamless multi-channel shopping experience,” said Geoffroy van Raemdonck, chief executive officer of Saks Global. “By optimizing our operational footprint, we will be better positioned to deliver exceptional products, elevated experiences and highly personalized service across all channels, while simultaneously positioning our company to make investments that enable long-term growth and value creation. Importantly, opportunities within the luxury market remain strong, and Saks Global is primed to play a distinct, enduring role within the industry for many years to come.”
