Cadre Holdings, Inc., the parent company of Safariland safety products, has agreed to acquire TYR Tactical, a manufacturer of tactical gear and equipment for military and law enforcement personnel.

A family-owned business founded by Jason and Jane Beck in 2010, TYR Tactical offers a suite of products that includes plate carriers, vests, hard armor, shields, and accessories.

Headquartered in Peoria, AZ, TYR Tactical serves a worldwide customer base, including special operations units and government agencies in the U.S. and international militaries.

The Safariland Group offers several recognized brand names in public safety, military, professional and outdoor markets, including Safariland Armor, Duty Gear and Communications, Bianchi, Break Free, Hatch, Med-Eng, Identicator, and NIK.

Brad Williams, president of Cadre, commented, “TYR Tactical and Safariland are two of the most recognizable brands in their respective customer bases, each with distinct strengths and minimal customer overlap. This strategic alignment allows both brands to operate collaboratively in the market while maintaining their unique identities and customer relationships. TYR Tactical and Safariland will work together to expand capabilities and drive innovation across Cadre’s public safety portfolio.”

Cadre said Tyr Tactical brings “advanced engineering and manufacturing capabilities to Cadre.” These include “proprietary pressing and autoclave technologies that enable the production of next-generation plates and shields using cutting-edge materials.” These capabilities are expected to complement Safariland’s existing product development efforts and accelerate innovation across both brands.

Jason Beck, CEO of TYR Tactical, commented, “We share with Cadre a long-standing commitment to innovation, quality and a life-saving mission. We are excited to partner with the Cadre team and look forward to working together to enhance our ability to serve those who protect us every day. We are extremely proud of our company’s legacy and cannot think of a better way for TYR Tactical to enter its next chapter.”

The transaction is anticipated to close in the first half of 2026, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions.
