The Russell Athletic/Fruit of the Loom Mill in Alexander City, AL will soon close, according to WSFA.com, a news site published by the local NBC TV affiliate.
The report says current employees were notified by letter of the decision on Wednesday morning, and “employment separations” will begin on July 29.
The mill makes special order t-shirts and athletic clothing. In January, the facility laid off nearly 200 people from its 390-person workforce.
