RunSignUp, a provider of online tools for races registration, race day solutions and running clubs, appointed Eric Cone as VP of strategic business development.

Cone will help with strategic directions for the overall business, as well as working with some of RunSignUp’s strategic clients and business partners.

We are very fortunate to have Eric’s deep industry knowledge and solid technology background to help guide us as we grow the company,” said Bob Bickel, founder, RunSignUp. “The fact that Eric was a technology-first CEO really fit our ambitions to continue providing best in class technology solutions to our clients.”

“I’m very excited to be back in the industry I love,” said Cone. “I was impressed by RunSignUp’s strong platform and focus on meeting the hard requirements of the endurance industry. And it is a great cultural fit of caring about technology and making clients happy.”

Cone was the founder and CEO of RaceIt, a registration platform he started in 2007 that was acquired by Competitor Group in 2012. Before that, he had a successful career as a developer and consultant. He will work out of the RunSignUp Richmond, VA office alongside Bryan Jenkins, VP of sales.
