The sole franchisee of the bankrupt New England-based Rugged Bear retail chain has reopened two Rugged Bear stores in New Hampshire under the name C&C Kids, according to a report in The Patriot-Ledger newspaper. The stores are continuing to focus on rugged outdoor clothing for children, but are now selling product from Columbia Sportswear, The North Face, Patagonia and other outdoor wholesale brands.

After liquidating their inventory of Rugged Bear apparel and product, Brad and Megan Greenwood reopened their stores in Beverly and West Lebanon, NH as C&C Kids. The name came from the first initials of their two children, Cora and Charlie.

The couple is exploring launching its own line of private lable outdoor apparel for children with manufacturers, the newspaper reported.
