Rockport Co., owned by Adidas, opened a “freestanding concept store” on Boston's trendy Newbury Street. The store at 218 Newbury St. “represents the first new store concept in Boston proper and the 14th new store concept for Rockport to open in the United States this year,” Rockport said in a press release.

“With a design concept originally deployed in 2008 by a Zurich-based design firm, the 1,586 square foot concept store will feature Rockport's new fall 2010 men's and women's footwear collections, which showcase Rockport's walkability philosophy through the integration of performance technology (such as adiPRENE by adidas) that makes style comfortable and allows consumer to look good longer,” the statement said.
