With the promotion of Maris Adamovics to head Product Development in Ritchey’s Asia office, U.S. General Manager Steve Parke had an important position to fill in the San Carlos, CA office.

“I knew we needed someone who understood purchasing and could jump right in, but who believed in what Ritchey is about and would fit into our culture,” said Steve. “John was a near perfect candidate and we were very enthused to find he was interested.”

McMillan has a long history in the cycling industry, building frames with Co-Motion, Bike Friday and then to Burley where he spent two years building frames, then the past six years as Purchasing Manager.

At Ritchey, McMillan handles orders for goods to stock the U.S. warehouse and manages logistics for North American distributors and OEMs. He is also working to implement new inventory replenishment software which will improve Ritchey’s customer service and streamline the distribution system. He’s also been asked to participate in the evolution of the Ritchey Break-Away bicycle line, helping establish specifications and working on future directions with Tom Ritchey and the Product Development team in the Taiwan office.

“I’m thrilled for the opportunity to join this organization,” said John. “The products are fantastic, there is a really special group of people who work at Ritchey, and I’m proud to be part of their team. It was a tough decision to leave my old job, and I’m glad that I can still serve Burley by ensuring that their OEM needs are satisfied. I never in my life would have thought I would become a Californian, but relocating has turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made.”
