Ride Snowboards and ArtLink Steamboat present “Snowboard Art 2.” This is a Graphics Competition in Steamboat Springs this February 2004. The Grand Prize Winner will receive a whopping $1000 cash prize AND have their winning design printed on their very own limited edition Ride snowboard. The remaining four boards (in the limited edition run of five) will be used for fundraising purposes for the Surfrider Foundation's Snowrider Project, a national outreach program that seeks to educate snow-sport enthusiasts and alpine communities on the interrelationship between our mountain and coastal environments and promote watershed stewardship.

This international competition is open to all artists working in any 2-D medium designed to fit the Official Snowboard Template.

“Ride Snowboards is very pleased to work with artLink again for this 2nd competition,” says Tara Miller, Marketing Manager of Ride Snowboards. “Last year's event exceeded our expectations, but it's already obvious each year this contest takes place, it's only going to get better. We're also thrilled to get involved with the Surfrider Foundation's Snowrider Project this year – an extremely worthwhile organization dedicated to increasing people's awareness of their affect on the entire hydrological cycle.”

“This competition satisfies our goal of pairing a sports event with an art event, bringing the fresh artistic voice of a generation of athletes to the forefront of our resort community,” said Susan Schiesser, artist and artLink President. The competition is also a symbol of artLink's commitment to bring all kinds of art to Steamboat. The works will be exhibited online and at several locations and galleries in Steamboat. The juror's for the competition are Styk, Ride Snowboards' Creative Director, and Fank, Art Director at Ride.
