“Our strategy for growth has always included extending the Dearfoams name beyond slippers, and as a top supplier to many of the world's best retailers, we view Olivet as an ideal choice to make this element of our growth strategy a reality,” said Greg Tunney, R.G. Barry president and CEO, in a statement.

Olivet, based in the Los Angeles area, makes handbags and luggage under a variety of brand names. The company expanded into the apparel business last year.

“As a truly authentic brand that stands for comfort and quality, the growth opportunities with Dearfoams are extensive,” said Jack Holodnicki, Olivet president in a statement.

Dearfoams is R.G. Barry's flagship slipper brand. The company also has licenses for Levi's, Nautica and Terrasoles footwear, and it makes private-label slippers for retailers.
