Revo Brands, the parent company of Real Avid and Outdoor Edge Cutlery, announced a leadership transition as its co-founders, Roy Wetterstrom and Howard Tripp, plan to retire at the end of this year.

As part of the transition, Adam Birk has been appointed chief executive officer, with Jim Gianladis named chief innovation officer and Jeff Forsberg, chief marketing officer.

Birk, Gianladis and Forsberg also lead Vertikal Brands, where, in partnership with Clearview Capital, they guide multiple investments in the outdoor industry. Since Clearview’s investment in Revo Brands in 2020, they have worked closely with the company to expand product lines, improve operational strength and accelerate growth. Gianladis will continue to serve as CEO of Vertikal Brands, with Birk and Forsberg also remaining active in the business.

Founded in 2008 with the launch of the Real Avid Gun Tool, Wetterstrom and Tripp built Real Avid into a leading brand of shooting accessories. In 2021, the company expanded further with the acquisition of Outdoor Edge Cutlery.

“Our goal from the beginning was to build innovative products and enduring brands,” said Wetterstrom. “Howard and I are proud of what Revo Brands has become, and we are fortunate to have a known, trusted, and experienced team in Adam, Jim, and Jeff to lead the company into its next chapter.”

“Roy and Howard created outstanding brands and a strong business,” said Birk. “It’s been a privilege to work alongside them and the Revo Brands team over the past five years. With Jim and Jeff, I look forward to carrying forward that legacy while continuing to grow the company and deliver innovative, purpose-built products to the outdoor community.”
