Revelyst, Inc. has appointed Dave Mellon, Grundéns’ former president, as president of Simms Fishing Products and Revelyst Outdoor Performance, which also includes the Bushnell, Camp Chef, Stone Glacier, and Primos Hunting brands.

Mellon officially began the position on May 18 and relocated to Bozeman, Montana, where he will be based at the Revelyst Bozeman Innovation Center, the headquarters of Outdoor Performance.

“I’m excited to join Revelyst, Simms and the Outdoor Performance platform at such an important time,” Mellon commented. “Revelyst has assembled a compelling portfolio of authentic, performance-led brands with strong foundations and significant potential. I look forward to partnering with the leadership team and brand organizations to sharpen execution, deepen consumer connection and build durable platforms for long-term success.”

In this role, Mellon “will focus on strengthening Simms’ and the Outdoor Performance brands’ omni-channel strategy, with an emphasis on deepening partnerships with specialty retail customers and accelerating product innovation. He will work closely with cross-functional teams to reinforce the company’s commitment to the trade, enhance collaboration with retail partners and help drive the next phase of growth through a renewed focus on consumer-driven innovation and marketplace execution,” the company said in a media release.

“Dave brings a rare combination of global operating expertise, financial acumen and authentic outdoor brand leadership, including direct experience in the angling business with Simms,” said Eric Nyman, CEO, Revelyst. “He understands the technical performance consumer, the importance of our retailers and the necessity of building strong teams and strong brands. Dave is exceptionally well-positioned to lead Simms and Revelyst Outdoor Performance as we continue to strengthen the platform and pursue meaningful long-term growth opportunities.”

Mellon previously served as CEO of Grunden’s and earlier held leadership roles at Simms from 2012 to 2014, including VP of marketing and product. Most recently, he served as CEO of a portfolio company in Kian Capital’s private equity portfolio.

Revelyst said, “Throughout his career, Mellon has consistently delivered revenue growth, operational improvement and brand expansion across a range of business environments — from established category leaders to emerging and turnaround brands — through a disciplined, consumer-focused omni-channel approach. He is a purpose-driven leader who believes enduring brands are built around authentic experiences and deep connections with the communities they serve. He has led global organizations of more than 250 employees and managed businesses generating more than $400 million in annual revenue. His experience navigating complex markets, building high-performing teams, and delivering for customers will be instrumental as Revelyst Outdoor Performance and Simms continue to evolve and grow.”

Mellon replaces Jordan Judd, who left in January 2026, according to Judd’s LinkedIn account.

Revelyst’s other segments include Adventure Sports, including Fox Racing, Bell Helmets, Giro Sport Design, CamelBak, QuietKat, and Blackburn; and Precision Sports & Technology, including Foresight Sports and Bushnell Golf.
