The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. said Therese Callahan, Senior Vice President and General Merchandise Manager, Center Core and Children’s has announced her retirement, effective Feb. 5, 2010. Callahan joined Bon-Ton in October of 2006 and her career spanned more than 40 years in the retail industry.


In its continuing commitment to succession planning and associate development, Bon-Ton recognized and promoted outstanding individuals from its merchant organization, all of whom report to Tony Buccina, Vice Chairman, President – Merchandising.


Joyce Armeli has been appointed Senior Vice President, General Merchandise Manager, Center core and Children’s. Ms. Armeli, who started with the Company as a trainee in 1977, has had senior merchandise management assignments and various divisional merchandise manager, buyer and assistant buyer positions.

 

Kiki Lockwood has been promoted to Senior Vice President, General Merchandise Manager, Ready-to-Wear. Ms. Lockwood has held her previous position as Vice President, Divisional Merchandise Manager of Ladies’ Better Sportswear, since joining the Company in August 2002. Prior to joining the Bon-Ton, Ms. Lockwood worked at Kaufmann’s, a division of May Co. department stores. While at Kaufmann’s, Ms. Lockwood held many buying positions and was divisional merchandise Manager of Children’s and Updated Sportswear and Petite Sportswear. Her last position at Kaufmanns’ before joining Bon-Ton was Divisional Merchandise Manager, Better Sportswear. Mike Nemoir, Senior Vice President, General Merchandise Manager, Men’s and Home, will continue in his current position.

Mr. Buccina commented, “We are appreciative of the significant contributions and leadership Terry provided during her tenure with Bon-Ton and extend our best wishes to her in retirement. We are also very pleased we have the strength and expertise within our organization to elevate outstanding individuals. Joyce has been instrumental in leading the company’s Ready-to-Wear division, most recently as Senior Vice President, General Merchandise Manager, and will be an asset to our company in her new role. Kiki, with 33 years of retail experience, brings to her new position significant acumen in the ladies’ ready-to-wear area as a result of her successes as DMM, Better Sportswear with us, and as DMM, Better Sportswear and Children’s at Kaufmann’s. Joyce, Kiki and Mike are well-respected by our vendors and I look forward to capitalizing on their expertise as we execute our merchandise initiatives.”
