Respect Your Universe, a mixed martial arts-inspired performance apparel and equipment company, has tapped Kevin Hyland to the position of VP of Sales, effective July 18, 2011.
Kevin Hyland says of his appointment: “Im excited to be a part of such a dynamic sport and to work with a strong team of professionals. Ive worked with some of the leading sports brands, and believe that RYU’s positioning as a premium performance brand is consistent with the culture and discipline of MMA, and will lead to success for our retail partners and our shareholders.”
Hyland has over 27 years of experience in the sporting goods and sporting apparel industry. His experience in the development of product sales, strategy and retail presentation have been key components to success of several major brands across Western Europe, Asia and the United States.
Key recent positions included Director of Sales for Equipment, Soccer and Team Sales for Nike in Asia-Pacific, and Director of Sales for the US Strategic Sporting Goods Group at Adidas. Mr. Hyland has also served as a consultant for Gatorade.
