Saks Global, which filed for bankruptcy protection on January 14, is planning to close its Saks on Amazon online storefront, according to a Reuters report.

A source told Reuters on Friday, January 30, that the platform, launched on Amazon in April 2025, will shutter so the retailer can focus on its higher-growth business areas. “The Saks on Amazon storefront saw limited brand participation,” the source said, adding that the company believes it would be more beneficial if it could redirect traffic to Saks.com.

Amazon said in a media statement, “Beyond the Saks experience, the Amazon luxury store continues to offer a wide selection of high-end designer styles, and we’re adding more luxury brands regularly.”

Saks declined to comment.

The reported end of Saks’ partnership comes two years after Amazon invested $475 million in Saks to support its merger with Neiman Marcus. With the bankruptcy filing, Amazon has argued in court documents that its investment in Saks is now “presumptively worthless,” and that the $1.75 billion in post-petition funding Saks had secured included terms harmful to creditors.
