The RV Industry Association (RVIA) is reporting that manufacturers found that total RV shipments ended May 2026 with 22,900 units shipped, a decline of 18.7 percent compared to the 28,150 units shipped in May 2025.
For the year-to-date (YTD) period through May, shipments are down 14.4 percent, with 138,160 RVs shipped through five months compared to 161,373 shipped in the comparable YTD period last year.
Towable RVs, led by conventional travel trailers, ended the month down 21.3 percent from May 2025 with 19,679 shipments. Folding Camping Trailers were the only Towables sub-category to post an increase for the month.
Motorhomes finished the month up 2.2 percent compared to May 2025 with 3,221 units, led by a strong 14.6 percent growth in Van Campers. Mini Campers, which have grown the most for the YTD period, with an 18.2 percent increase, inched up 1.8 percent for May 2026.
Park Model RVs finished May up 8.5 percent compared to the same month last year, with 383 wholesale shipments and 20 percent of those going to the state of Texas. To date, park model RVs are up 23.3 percent with 2,172 units shipped.
