Dicks Sporting Goods CEO Ed Stack is talking to several Pennsylvania GOP leaders about a possible challenge to Senator Bob Casey, according to the National Journal.
The report states, “Ed Stack, the wealthy CEO of Dick's Sporting Goods, has
talked to several Pennsylvania GOP leaders about challenging Democratic
Sen. Robert Casey next year, National Journal's Alex Roarty reports. Jim
Roddey, chairman of the Allegheny County Republican Party, was quick to
emphasize that the discussions were very informal. “I don't know how
serious it is,” he said. Still, Stack's interest is potentially
significant. His wealth and business background could make him this
cycle's Ron Johnson, the Wisconsin businessman who unseated Democratic
Sen. Russell Feingold last year.”
