Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI) announced the reappointment of José
Ignacio Lozano and Brenda Davis to one-year terms on the company’s
board of directors.

Lozano joined REI’s board in 2008 and served on the Audit and Finance
Committee last year. He currently is the vice chairman and founding
executive vice president of impreMedia, LLC, the leading publisher of
Spanish language print and online news media in the country. He is also
the principal of Lozano Enterprises, a private investment firm that
lends business expertise to start-up companies. Additionally, he serves
on the board of trustees for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and The
Skadden Fellowship Foundation. An REI member since 1994, Lozano resides
in Manhattan Beach, Calif. and is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys
backpacking, skiing, mountain biking, surfing and sailing.

Davis was first appointed to REI’s board in 2007, and has served on the
co-op’s Audit and Finance Committee for two years. Davis is currently
the chair of the governing council for The Wilderness Society, which
works to save, protect and restore the nation's wilderness. She also
serves on the board of the World Wildlife Fund. With extensive
experience in governmental social and environmental policy on the state
and federal levels, Davis retired from Johnson & Johnson in 2007
where she was an officer responsible for global compliance and vice
president of technical resources. An REI member since 2006, she resides
in Bozeman, Mont. and is a lifelong conservationist and outdoor
enthusiast.

REI’s board of directors represents the co-op’s membership and provides
oversight for the affairs and performance of the company. The board is
comprised of 13 co-op members, 10 of whom are elected by the
membership. REI’s president and CEO Sally Jewell is a member of the
board by virtue of the position, and two members serve one-year
appointed terms. Four committees operate within the board, including
the Executive Committee, Nominating and Governance Committee,
Compensation Committee and Audit and Finance Committee.
