Members of Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI) returned incumbents Fran Conley, Anne Farrell, Tom Harville and Catherine Walker to the cooperative's board of directors for three-year terms.

Conley, of Seattle, is CEO of sportswear manufacturer and retailer Cutter & Buck Inc. Farrell, also of Seattle, is president emeritus of The Seattle Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports the Puget Sound region through its endowments, grants and community involvement. Harville, of Edmonds, Wash., is an active community volunteer and the retired chairman and CEO of the Bon Marche. Walker, of Seattle, is the vice president for administration/university counsel at Seattle University.

The REI board also selected its officers for 2003. Bill Britt was re-elected as chairman, and Catherine Walker was selected vice chairman. Britt, of Anchorage, Alaska, is the health, environment & safety manager for Unocal in Alaska.

In other board activity, Michael Smith, president of online community Classmates.com, was re-appointed to a one-year term. Smith is former president of Nordstrom.com and former CEO of Lands' End.
