The National Sporting Goods Association (NSGA) announced that Jim Gabel, Reebok's North American President, will headline Day 2 of the association's 2011 Management Conference & Team Dealer Summit. The event will be held May 1-4, 2011 at Loews Ventana Canyon in Tucson, AZ.

Appointed to this position in March 2008, Gabel is responsible for all of the North American region's brand operations, including marketing, product merchandising, sales, finance, operations and owned retail stores. He reports directly to the president and CEO of Reebok International Ltd. Gabel will discuss Building Your Brand on Tuesday morning, May 3. The session will build off the learning outcomes from Reebok's recent re-branding efforts and how those experiences may apply to attendees' individual businesses and brands.

In addition to Gabel, the event's second day includes additional outstanding education, fun and recognition components.

Following Gabel in the event's General Track will be Michael Copeland, executive vice president and COO of Cabela's, discussing how times have changed in the last 50 years of retailing, utilizing his company as an example.

Team Dealers will have the opportunity to hear from a panel discussing how rule changes can impact the team business, a session held in conjunction with collaborative partner, the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (SGMA). On the panel will be Tom Cove, SGMA's president & CEO, Jim Fallis, a member of the NCAA Oversight Committee and Athletic Director at Northern Arizona University, Marty Hickman, Executive Director of the Illinois High School Association, and Jim Tenopir, COO of the National Federation of State High School Associations.

The Official NSGA Golf Tournament, sponsored by SPS Commerce, will take place Tuesday afternoon for the golfers in attendance.

For non-golfers, more education will be presented on Tuesday afternoon. Carol Semrad, SPHR, will present a session entitled How Can 'That' be Illegal where she will discuss the challenges of leading an organization and remaining compliant with local and federal laws. Also, Brett Goffin, the Head of Industry, Retail, of Google will discuss How Google Can Help Drive Store Sales.

The day will conclude with the annual Sporting Goods Industry Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony, where Jim Baugh, Wilson Sporting Goods Co., Tom Raynor, Fleet Feet, Inc., and Ted Stahl, GroupeSTAHL, will be inducted.
