Reebok joined Louisville Slugger and other Major League Baseball providers in participating in the Mother's Day “pink” initiatives. Slugger bats stamped with a pink MLB logo were made available for athletes to use on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 10th. Many of Reebok's athletes donned pink cleats, with a select number of the game-worn cleats to be auctioned off post-game to benefit Avon Foundation for Women.

Pink bats have become annual Mother's Day symbols as part of an overall “Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer” initiative by Major League Baseball that raises awareness about breast cancer and directs proceeds to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. This is the first time pink cleats have been worn by MLB players.

“Reebok has been a supporting partner of the Avon Foundation for a number of years and breast cancer awareness is a cause that has become an integral part of who we are as a brand,” said Chris Waldeck, Reebok's Director, Cleated and Equipment Team Sports. “We are also the official footwear supplier of Major League Baseball, so we jumped at the chance to be a part of this initiative, which supports a great cause and also lets our players express how much their mothers mean to them.”
