What was originally teased as a signature logo turned into a signature shoe launch as Reebok and J.J. Watt came out with a training shoe that taps on input from the three-time defensive player of the year.

Over a year in the making, the shoe has been built from the ground up by Reebok and Watt. “J.J. has taken part in every step of the design and development to ensure the JJ I provided him with every advantage he needs to continue pushing his limits,” the company said.

“I’ve trained in many different shoes throughout my career, but there was never one that I felt was clearly the best shoe to get the job done.”, said Watt. “So I decided to build one and with the help of some great designers, I am proud to say that we have created the best training shoe I’ve ever worn. We spent over a year making sure that this shoe would perform at the highest level on any surface for any activity. Everyone has their own personal vision of greatness, the JJ simply ensures that you have the right tools for the hunt.”

The JJ I shoe is also the first item in which Reebok introduces its Liquid Foam technology, allowing for rapid impact reaction.

The launch of the JJ I is a chapter of the “Hunt Greatness” campaign launched in May— “built from the idea that, at our core we are all predators, but we no longer hunt to eat, we hunt to become our best selves,” the company issued.

“We partnered with J.J. because he represents everything we believe here at Reebok; he is the true embodiment of Be More Human. He is constantly pushing his limits and overcoming obstacles to become the best version of himself through training and commitment. The JJ is really the embodiment of that partnership,” said David Oksman, Head of US Marketing, Reebok.
