Due to a faulty sole pad, Salomon has issued a voluntary recall of both the pads and boot configurations containing those pads; sold through Salomon USA ski boot dealers in Colorado, Utah, Vermont and Washington from February 2010 through April 2010. The models were retailed for around $50 for the sole pads and about $750 for the ski boots configured with the recalled sole pads.

The affected models were defined as the Quest Touring Pads, distributed as sole pads only, and the Quest Pro Pebax and Quest Pro ski boots configured with the recalled sole pads. To date, the firm has received one report of injury, involving a fractured leg and knee injuries.

The company is urging consumers to cease use of the related products and return them to a certified Salomon dealer for a replacement.
