RECALL: Redline D640 Bicycles

Seattle Bike Supply of Kent, WA is voluntarily recalling about 200 Redline D640 bicycles imported from China because the head tube can separate from the frame, causing the rider to lose conrol and fall.

 
The defect poses a risk of serious injury. Seattle Bikes is aware of eight reports of head tubes separating from the frame, including four reports of minor scrapes and cuts.

 
The bicycles have black, aluminum frames and were sold at bicycle specialty stores nationwide from December 2007 to May 2010 for about $900. “REDLINE” is written down the frame's tube. RECALL: Redline D640 Bicycles

About 200 Redline D640 bicycles made by Seattle Bike Supply of Kent, WA have been recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The head tube can separate from the frame, causing the rider to lose control and fall.

Seattle Bikes indicated it is aware of eight reports of head tubes separating from the frame, including four reports of minor scrapes and cuts.

The recall involves all 2008 Redline D640 bicycles. The bicycles were sold in black and have aluminum frames. “REDLINE” is written down the frame's tube. The model number is written on the frame's top tube.
