The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Electra Bicycle Company LLC of Vista, CA, has issued a voluntary recall of 2009 Model Electra Bicycles with Front Trays. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

The front tray on the bicycle can come loose and contact the front
tire, posing a fall hazard to riders. Electra Bicycle has received four reports of the front tray coming loose, including one incident that resulted in minor cuts and bruises.

This recall involves the following Electra 2009 model bicycles: Delivery 3i, Delivery 8D, Holiday 3i and Surf 3i. Bicycles with trays connected to the fork crown with a bolt passing fully through the tab are not
included in the recall.

The affected bikes were sold by Authorized Electra Bicycle dealers nationwide from October 2008 through February 2009 for between $600 and $750. About 3,000 bikes were produced.

Consumers should immediately stop riding these bicycles and contact an Electra Bicycle dealer for a free inspection and repair.
