Rawlings was recently named as the Official Equipment and Uniform Supplier of the annual Aflac All American High School Baseball Classic to take place on Aug. 16th at 5 p.m. This year’s game, which showcases the nation’s best high school baseball players, will be played at San Diego’s Petco Park for the first time ever in its seven year history and will be televised live nationally on FOX Sports Net.

The game will be played in an East vs. West format and will feature 40 standout athletes from high schools around the country. The athletes will be provided with the latest Rawlings wood bats, batting gloves, batting helmets, baseballs, catcher’s protective equipment, and uniforms. The newly introduced Rawlings S100 Batter’s Helmet, which offers increased protection at ball speeds up to 100 miles per hour, will make its official debut at the game.

“Rawlings is looking forward to being a part of the 2009 Aflac All-American High School Baseball Classic and to providing top notch baseball gear to the premiere high school athletes in the country,” said Mike Thompson, Rawlings Senior Vice-President, Sports Marketing. “These high school baseball players certainly have a bright future ahead of them and we are proud that they are allowing Rawlings to be a part of that.”

Former Hall of Famer and St. Louis Cardinal Shortstop Ozzie Smith will serve as the game’s Honorary Chairman. Smith, who wore Rawlings gloves during his playing days, has won 13 Rawlings Gold Glove® Awards for his defensive skills.
