Rawlings, a division of Jarden Team Sports, is launching a line of performance apparel. According to a report in the St. Louis Dispatch, a baseball apparel  line was rolled out in January at Modell's Sporting Goods, Hibbett Sports and Sport Chalet. Specialty team dealers will begin selling the apparel later this month.

The line sells for $25 to $59. A Rawlings football performance apparel line will be launched later this year, as will new performance apparel for Jarden's Worth softball and deBeer lacrosse brands.

According to the report, Rawlings had offered some “base layer” apparel but was not selling a full collection.

“We found that kids were wearing our uniforms with other brands' shirts underneath,” said Matt Bensing, senior director of apparel for Jarden Team Sports.

Rawlings partnered with Power Balance, an Orange County, Calif.-based company, for some of the clothing in its new apparel line. Power Balance sells hologram-embedded wristbands that some professional athletes – including the NFL's Matthew Stafford and Drew Brees and the NBA's Derrick Rose — contend increase their performance.
