Rack Room reported that Mark Lardie, its president and CEO since 2012, is retiring. The family footwear chain, owned by Germany’s Deichmann Group, hasn’t announced a successor.
Lardie’s roles prior to joining Rack Room included division president, Wholesale, Brown Shoe Company; SVP, merchandise manager, Famous Footwear; and SVP, general merchandise manager, Footstar.
Lardie’s retirement was announced on a LinkedIn post from Rack Room, which is based in Charlotte, NC and has about 380 stores.
The post read, “Today, we recognize and celebrate Mark Lardie as he retires after 14 remarkable years at Rack Room Shoes. Mark’s leadership, steady guidance and commitment to excellence have left a lasting mark on our organization and on so many of us who’ve had the privilege to work alongside him.
“Thank you, Mark, for your years of dedication and the legacy you leave behind. We wish you a fulfilling and happy retirement. Your impact here will be felt for years to come!”
