The Ultra-Trail Harricana of Canada (UTHC), presented by The North Face, introduced Rachel Paquette as this year’s honorary president.

“Rachel is an exceptional representative of trail running,” said UTHC President and Founder Sébastien Côté. “She wins just about every race she runs. She’s a tremendous athlete, but more importantly, she’s a wonderful person. We’re thrilled to have her on our team this year!”

Rachel Paquette won the 50-mile Endurance Challenge at the Blue Mountain Resort in 2015 and 2016, and placed third in the 50-mile Endurance Challenge at Bear Mountain three years in a row. She won the very first Ultra-Trail Harricana race in 2011. On the Spartan Race circuit, Paquette is currently the third-fastest woman in the world.

“I am immensely honored to be the UTHC honorary president,” said Rachel. “It’s a unique race. The terrain is incredible. There are really different surfaces, striking views and very technical terrain.”

Rachel Paquette will run the 28-km race at this year’s event, which will take place on September 9 and 10, at Grands-Fonds in the Charlevoix region of Quebec. She will also speak at the opening ceremony, before the 80-km and 65-km races, and at the awards ceremony.
