A letter that claimed to have been penned by a group of Quiksilver shareholders was found to be a hoax. Two weeks ago, the “Cross Americas Investors Club” and an individual named “Lew Shapiro” sent a letter to a group of Rossignol dealers and a few media outlets that made some serious claims against the performance of the Quiksilver management team (see BOSS_0712).

When the original article was published, Quiksilver representatives had not returned calls concerning the letter. Since then, the company has looked into the matter and can find no record of the Cross Americas Investors Club or Lew Shapiro as an investor.
