QDMA has announced the addition of Leon Hank to its Board of Directors. Mr. Hank, a resident of Lansing, MI, has been involved with QDMA for over a decade, serving as a past QDMA Michigan State Branch President and a long-time devoted QDMA member.

Hank is filling the position previously held by Ed Spinazzola who is retiring after serving ten years on the Board. He shares Spinazzola’s passion for membership and local Branches and will chair the Event Strategy/Branch Development Committee and serve on the Fiduciary Oversight Committee.

Hank is the Michigan Department of Transportation’s Chief Administrative Officer. In this role, he oversees the Bureaus of Finance and Administration, Transportation Planning, Aeronautics and Freight Services, and the operations of the International Bridge. He is also responsible for MDOT’s annual budget. Hank is a licensed CPA and has had an extraordinary 33-year career with the state of Michigan that has earned him numerous notable awards and positions on various boards.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, our Staff, and most importantly, our loyal QDMA Members, we are pleased to welcome Leon Hank to our National Board,” said Mark Thomas, Chairman of the QDMA Board of Directors. “He will, no doubt, make a substantial contribution to the QDMA on National issues. We especially welcome his financial managerial skills, and the entire Board looks forward to working closely with Leon in the years ahead. Many thanks, Leon, for your desire to serve on the National Board of Directors and for your past leadership role. Much of the phenomenal success of the QDMA is because of the dedication and commitment of members like you. Welcome to the Board,” said Thomas.

“It’s been very satisfying to work with QDMA at the local and state levels in Michigan over the last ten years, so I am really looking forward to working with the Board on a national level,” said Leon Hank. “We are one of the leading wildlife conservation and pro-hunting organizations in the country, and I am proud to be part of keeping us there. Ed Spinazzola has been a mentor to me since I met him years ago, so it’s an honor to fill his spot on the National Board of Directors. He’s known throughout Michigan as the father of QDMA and as Mr. Food Plot. I will do my best to fill his very big shoes,” said Hank.
