Bill Sweeney, who has spent the past three years as head of business
development at Puma, has been hired as chief executive of the British
Olympic Association. Sweeney directed Usain Bolt's commercial activities for Puma in connection with the 2012 London Olympics.

Sweeney
also worked on Puma’s deal with the Oracle sailing team at the recent
America’s Cup triumph and has previously worked for Formula One team
Jordan Grand Prix. From 2002 to 2010, he was SVP, global apparel & training for Adidas.

He will oversee Britain's preparations for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and the 2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro. He will be responsible for running the day-to-day
operations under chairman Sebastian Coe.
