PulseOn was selected April 15 as a winner in Red Herring’s Top 100 private technology companies in Europe for its optical technology, which eliminates the need for recreational athletes to wear chest straps to monitor their heart rate during exercise.

PulseOn is a Finnish mobile wellness technology company founded in November 2012, as a spin-off from Nokia. The company is headquartered in Espoo, Finland with a subsidiary in Neuchatel, Switzerland.

The Top 100 Finalists for the 2015 edition of the Red Herring Europe award were shortlisted on the basis of their technological innovation, management strength, market size, investor record, customer acquisition, and financial health. Within these criteria PulseOn stood out from the crowd and as a winner, PulseOn made it to a shortlist showcasing the year's most promising private technology ventures.

PulseOn’s optical heart rate sensor technology continues to gain interest globally both with consumers and the industry. PulseOn’s technical performance, tested in various cardio-intensive sports, from biking to walking to running, from lower intensities to the highest performance speeds has been validated to provide excellent accuracy and reliability from beat-to-beat detection of heart rate during rest to chest belt accuracy even in maximum heart rate zones.

The PulseOn Team is honored for this recognition, and continues to work hard in the further development of excelling technological innovations in the field of optical measurement of heart rate and pushing boundaries of what is possible today and in the future.
