PROJECT Cancels July Show, Names New President

Andrew Pollard  was named president of the PROJECT Global Trade Show, replacing Sam Ben-Avraham. The upcoming July New York PROJECT show has been cancelled with a planned re-launch in January 2011. PROJECT Las Vegas is still set for Aug. 17 to 19.


Advanstar Communications, which acquired the show in 2005, said PROJECT needed someone to direct its affairs full time. Ben-Avraham, who founded the bi-annual show in 2003, was spending considerable time launching Improvd, a women's fashion line he founded  in late 2009. He also runs the contemporary boutique chain Atrium.
Pollard co-founded the Kiki De Montparnasse lingerie lifestyle collection and boutiques in 2004, and was formerly a long-time Diesel executive.

Project Cancels July Show, Names New President

Andrew Pollard was named president of the Project Global Trade Show,
replacing show founder Sam Ben-Avraham, who left the show to concentrate
on a new wholesale business. The show also announced it will relaunch
its New York Project show in
January 2011 and cancel its upcoming July show.

Ben-Avraham, who founded the bi-annual New York and Las Vegas show in
2003, will remain as a consultant to the trade show. He runs the
contemporary boutique chain Atrium, and also co-founded
women's fashion line Improvd in late 2009.

Advanstar Communications Inc., which acquired the show in 20045, said
Project needed someone to direct
its affairs full time.

Pollard co-founded the Kiki de Montparnasse lingerie lifestyle
collection and boutiques in 2004. He started his career with Diesel
Australia and worked as vice president of sales and marketing at Diesel
Canada and Diesel USA. In 2000, he was vice president of sales at Sixty
USA.
