The primary role of the Product Developer is to develop product specifications and documentation for use in domestic and foreign sourced manufacturing of athletic uniforms and related apparel. The Product Developer is responsible for the oversight of the entire development process from creation of and/or modification of patterns using Gerber Accumark design and marker making software through the completion of prototypes. The Product Developer works directly with sales and marketing personnel as well as equipment managers to determine improvements in fit/style/function of athletic uniforms.
Reports to the Director of Operations. There are no direct reports. Must possess the ability to:
- Work with Gerber Accumark software
- Identify and implement fabric utilization savings through improved design/engineering of patterns and/or markers
- Identify and implement improved fit characteristics of athletic uniform styles
- Produce thorough and accurate product specification package, including construction details, for domestic and foreign manufacturing guidance
- Work with sales and marketing development team to take 2-dimensional concepts and convert into 3-dimensional finished product
Qualifications:
- Experience with Gerber Accumark software or similar CAD software
- Minimum 2 years post-secondary education in Engineering/Textile or related technical field
- Knowledge of apparel design and apparel manufacturing
- Solid understanding of marketing concepts
- Positive Attitude!
- Experience in team uniforms desirable
