Ogden, UT, January 22, 2020 – Salomon unveils the new, all-mountain Stance ski collection, built to provide skiers with an ideal blend of performance, stability and versatility for the 2020/21 season. The Stance ski collection—which includes the Stance 90, Stance 96 and Stance 102 for men, and the Stance 88 W and Stance 94 W for women—is the result of three years of designing, crafting and testing in an effort to provide skiers with a metal ski that can carve on groomers, but is simultaneously versatile enough to inspire confidence through variable terrain.

“Our alpine design team was committed to designing the perfect ski to charge through variable conditions, carve on groomed terrain and provide control in tight trees. For those who prefer a classic metal ski, but also demand unparalleled versatility the Stance ski collection is our solution,” says Chris McKearin, the U.S. alpine commercial manager for Salomon. “Engineered utilizing our decades of experience with alpine race and freeride product development, we believe that the Stance collection delivers a truly unique feel allowing skiers to charge with confidence.”

The all-new Stance ski collection comes in three models for men and two models for women. The men’s Stance 90, Stance 96 and Stance 102 are constructed with a full poplar wood core, while the women’s Stance 88 and Stance 94 are slightly lighter with a blended karuba and poplar core. The full Stance collection offers a race-inspired side cut with a full sandwich sidewall and double titanal construction that delivers impressive edge grip. Salomon has laser milled windows into the upper titanal layer, freeing up the ski and providing the skier with a loose torsional feel and intuitive turn initiation. These windows are also reinforced with C/FX, a patented blend of carbon and basalt, to deliver confidence and stability in all conditions.

In addition to the Stance Ski collection, Salomon will expand the award-winning S/PRO collection with the S/PRO HV boot for men and women. The S/PRO HV brings the inclusive fit and performance-oriented features from the S/PRO to a wider 102mm last package for those with wider feet. The S/PRO HV features a seamless liner and Custom Shell HD technology for a comfortable and customizable fit, and Salomon’s CoreFrame insert and the Sense Amplifier technology allow for quick edge-to-edge responsiveness and superior turn initiation.

Salomon will also introduce the SHIFT Pro, an all-new four-buckle alpine-touring boot collection for men and women in Fall 2020. The SHIFT Pro was designed for skiers who love to charge all over the mountain, but also look for the occasional uphill skiing adventure. The lightweight 100mm-lasted boot features Salomon’s inclusive fit technology debuted in the best-selling S/PRO collection and promises to provide the power and performance of a true alpine boot combined with the versatility of an alpine-touring boot. SHIFT Pro features include a seamless liner, Salomon’s CoreFrame insert, tech inserts for compatibility with pin bindings, and the Surelock walk mechanism for increased cuff mobility.

Salomon is also expanding the S/LAB SHIFT binding family with the addition of the S/LAB SHIFT MNC 10. The Shift binding was introduced in 2018 as the first-ever binding to utilize the touring efficiency of a free-heel pin binding for ascending, and the power transmission of a standard alpine binding for descending. The new S/LAB SHIFT MNC 10 offers the same technology and features as the original but has a DIN setting that ranges from four to 10. The new binding is perfectly suited for lighter weight and less aggressive skiers, making the revolutionary technology available for a wider range of users.

Salomon’s full range of winter products will be on display at Outdoor Retailer Snow Show from January 29 through January 31, 2020. Please direct all media inquiries to Madeline Fones at madeline.fones@rygr.us.
