PrimaLoft announced it is the recipient of the 2020 Popular Science Best Of What’s New Award* in the “Sports & Outdoor” category for its PrimaLoft P.U.R.E. (Produced Using Reduced Emissions) manufacturing process.

“We are honored to receive this award alongside many other innovators across a variety of forward-thinking industries,” said PrimaLoft President and CEO, Mike Joyce. “At PrimaLoft, we believe that sustainability and performance can both be elevated with neither one sacrificed. A reflection of that relentlessly responsible mission is PrimaLoft P.U.R.E., an innovation that resulted from looking beyond the product and focusing on our manufacturing process to achieve a 48 percent reduction in carbon emissions.”

“The Best Of What’s New Awards” honors the year’s greatest feats of human ingenuity,” said Popular Science Editor-in-Chief, Corinne Iozzio. “Even in a year like 2020, innovation has helped us glimpse a future that’s safer, smarter and more enjoyable than we might have thought possible.”

*Each year, Popular Science reviews thousands of products and innovations and selects its Top 100 winners across 10 categories — Aerospace, Automotive, Engineering, Entertainment, Gadgets, Health, Home, Personal Care, Recreation, and Security. Awards are given based on a product or technology having proven a significant step forward in its category.
