Salomon athlete Courtney Dauwalter added another ultra-running win to her resume, winning the Hardrock 100 Endurance Run in Colorado’s San Juan mountains finishing the 100-mile race in 26 hours, 44 minutes and 36 seconds. She finished 6th place overall and was more than seven hours ahead of the female competitors.
Each year the Hardrock course alternates its direction, and this year, competitors ran in the clockwise direction. Dauwalter bettered the previous women’s overall record by a half hour and the previous clockwise course record by nearly two hours.
With career victories at the Western States 100, Run Rabbit Run, Tahoe 200, Moab 240, and the Ultra-Trail Mt. Fuji, the Hardrock title was the missing win for Dauwalter.
In the men’s race, Salomon athlete and defending Hardrock 100 champion Francois D’haene finished 2nd to Kilian Jornet with a time of 21 hours, 51 minutes and 21 seconds. D’haene and Jornet (21:36:34) shattered Jornet’s previous clockwise course record. T
Salomon equipment used by Dauwalter and D’haene included footwear, apparel, packs, and prototype products created by the company’s service-to-athletes team.
Dauwalter wore S/LAB Ultra 3 trail running shoes, a prototype Salomon running vest with Salomon flasks, a Salomon prototype tee and shorts, and a custom Salomon quiver to carry her poles.
D’haene wore the prototype Salomon ultra-running shoe that he ran in to win the UTMB in 2021, a prototype Salomon S/LAB running vest with Salomon hydration flasks, a Salomon tee-shirt and prototype shorts, a Salomon cap, and a custom Salomon quiver to carry his poles.
