Red Lodge, Mont. (July 23, 2026) – Crazy Creek Products, originators of the legless camp chair, today announced it has joined The Conservation Alliance, a coalition of outdoor businesses that fund and advocate for the protection of North America’s public lands and waters.
Founded in 1987 at the base of Montana’s Beartooth Mountains, Crazy Creek has spent nearly four decades building gear for people who spend their time outside. Membership in The Conservation Alliance formalizes a commitment the company has held since its earliest days in helping protect wild and natural places.
“Crazy Creek was started by our founder, Rob Hart, who was motivated by a serious need for comfort in the backcountry after too many soggy nights and sore backs. Every chair we’ve made since has been in service of getting people outside, and with that comes the responsibility to help protect these places,” said Andy Simpson, Director of Sales and Operations at Crazy Creek Products. “Joining The Conservation Alliance is a natural next step for us. The places our customers hike, paddle, and camp need real, sustained investment if they’re going to be there for the next generation of adventurers. We are grateful to The Conservation Alliance for helping unite and harness the collective power of businesses and amplifying our efforts in protecting wild places.”
As a member, Crazy Creek will contribute annual dues that go directly toward The Conservation Alliance grantmaking, will have the opportunity to nominate grassroots conservation groups for funding, and participate in the organization’s advocacy efforts, including the Business Advocacy Network and Brands for Public Lands coalition, which mobilize outdoor businesses to speak directly with lawmakers and federal agencies on behalf of public lands and waters.

Crazy Creek joins a network of more than 190 outdoor businesses, including fellow Montana-based businesses: Bedrock Sandals, High Mountain Creative, Oboz Footwear, Revolution House Media, Sitka Gear, Wild Idea Media, and Zephyr Adventures, in supporting The Conservation Alliance’s mission of helping fund and advocate for the protection of North America’s public lands and waters.
