According to Variety, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon will star in an upcoming film that chronicles Sonny Vaccaro’s quest to sign Michael Jordan to his first sneaker deal with Nike.
The film will follow Vaccaro introducing the world to Jordan’s parents, former coaches, advisors, friends, and those close to him.
Damon and Affleck will direct and co-write the as-yet-untitled film.
Alex Convery wrote the original script, Air Jordan, named to the 2021 Black List of the best-unproduced screenplays.
The movie will be produced by Amazon Studios, Skydance Sports and Mandalay Pictures.
