Nike Inc. announced that Cindy Davis, president of Nike Golf, plans to retire from Nike. Davis joined Nike Golf USA as general manager and has served as president of Nike Golf since 2008.

We thank Cindy for her leadership throughout the years as she has led the development and growth of Nikes Golf Business worldwide. Under Cindys direction, Nike Golf has steadily delivered profitable growth year after year since 2009, said Jayme Martin, VP & GM, Global Categories.

Before joining Nike in 2004, she had been a senior vice president at Golf Channel and worked at Arnold Palmer Golf and the LPGA.

Daviss successor will be named at a later date.

Nike Golf has also been impacted by the downtown in the golf category, partly caused by declines in rounds played, although the segment has performed better than the leader, Adidas-TaylorMade, which has seen double-digit declines. In its fiscal year ended May 31, 2014, Nike Golf sales were essentially flat, reaching $789 million against $792 million in 2013. In 2012, Nike Golf’s sales were $726 million.
