The Thursday (Sept. 20) night season premiere of NBC’s hit comedy series “The Office” will feature employees at the fictional paper company Dunder Mifflin using a slackline from Gibbons Slacklines in a team building event in the parking lot.

“Seeing the sport of slacklining featured on ‘The Office’ is a testament to just how popular it’s becoming and its appeal to all types of people,” said Emilio Torres, vice president of sales at Gibbon Slacklines. “Slacklining is continuing to grow and evolve as both a competitive sport and backyard activity. It’s extremely exciting to see ‘The Office’ stars on a slackline, introducing even more people to the sport.”

The show’s “new guy” and regional manager Andy Barnard, played by actor Clark Duke and affectionately deemed “Dwight Jr.,” walking the line with ease thanks to his “gigantic inner ears,” a feature he claims make balance-centric activities a breeze.

“It’s unlikely that someone would be able to walk the line, meaning to traverse it from end-to-end, on their first-ever slacklining attempt,” advised Torres. “Typically a first-timer can only stand on the line for a second or two in place, but finding your balance and being able to navigate the slackline can happen quickly. Just like any sport, some master it with greater ease than others, but slacklining is fun whether you’re a beginner learning the basics, or a pro performing aerials.”
