Gander Mountain Company's board of directors has elected David C. Pratt to fill the newly created position of vice chairman of the board. Pratt, the former chairman, president and CEO of United Industries, has been a director of Gander Mountain since August 2005. A trust for his benefit owns 1.4 million shares of Gander Mountain Company common stock and $20.0 million of the company's subordinated convertible debt.

“David has already made significant contributions in the short time he has been on our board,” said Mark Baker, President and CEO. “We are very pleased that he has agreed to accept this additional responsibility and look forward to working closely with him to drive sales and profits.”

“I have great respect for the management of Gander Mountain,” stated Pratt. “After spending time with them and visiting many of our stores, I am even more convinced that Gander Mountain is the premier outdoor lifestyle retailer, offering consumers a great assortment and real value. I am committed to the continued growth of the company.”
